or would like to see what they are about?
Well, this is what I have to say about my Artist Team & what they mean to me!
Our mini team in Houston, TX is called “Artisans of Houston”, started as an off-shoot of the Etsy Texas Crafters Team of www.Etsy.com Part of our goal is to promote ourselves locally, find new venues & new ways to sell our creations. This team began a little over a year ago & we started off with only 6 members! The few of us became dear friends very quickly.
Our little team is really growing now! We not only have Etsy Texas Crafters, but a wide variety of Artisans that are on Etsy, & some that do not have an online presence! We meet (if one chooses to) on a Tuesday evening, once a month at a restuarant We also have meetings through e-mails, & our Ning.
A lot of us have become really close friends & often get together as booth buddies to do Art Festivals or just for fun. Since I have fibromyalgia & am disabled because of it, I don’t get out much, & these wonderful people have become, in a way, like family to me!
It is a place where I can meet all kinds of extremely talented artisans, as well as sociallizing with really nice, down-to-earth friends. I always look forward to getting together, with each artist’s “show & tells” of their art work, & learning about each others crafts.
These talented people from “Artisans of Houston” saved my state of being, giving me a new purpose in life & the added bonus of new friends.
I finally belong to a fabulous artist team when I thought my career had ended & all was hopeless after years of art training & working in the field, graduate of High School for Performing and Visual Art , and a BFA in college.
I just had to write about what this team means to me, and I truly believe they were God sent.
We are always welcoming newcomers (drop me a convo if you are interested or leave a message here!) .
Also we are about to have our very first Art Festival called “A Fair to Remember” on November 14, 2009. Our Blog is http://HoustonArtisans.Blogspot.com and yall can go there to see all our information about our Festival and our team!
Here are just a very few of our Artisan’s work:
ENJOY!

Linda is such a great artist, with wonderful whimsical pieces! I for one have found her friendship to be one of the best parts of being a member of Artisans of Houston. We are getting ready for our first local show, and it is a lot of work, but fun seeing it come into being.
If you have an interest in developing a local team, pursue it! Friendships and improved business networking will follow.

It’s wonderful to read more about how a team can influence you in many ways – and a great way to bring like-minded people together! Looking forward to seeing more of the Art Festival!

Very sweet article, Linda! Love what you had to say and I appreciate how you feel about it being family. So do I. You really did a nice job of explaining how we work, and showing our items in your slide show. Nice job! Thank you. ;0)

Hey Linda, It seems you have a great group of artists for friends. Those are the best kind, they “get” where you’re coming from. I wish I lived in TX….
