Great photos and write up, Linda!
We have our own Renaissance festival here in Minnesota. This year I found out that I can actually bring my blogging cat Katie (on a harness with proper health documentation) to the festival. I'm currently working on her social skills so that she will be ready to attend next year.

We've got a lot of work to do.

I've never been to the Ren Fest, so I appreciated looking at all the pictures and reading about the history. Thanks, Linda, for the information and the pictures. Interesting, to be sure. Would love to go one day.

I loved the pics - brought back memories of when we would take our 3 kids, cousins, friends, to ride the camels, eat drumsticks and enjoy the Renaisance entertainment. We fought the crowds in the parking lot and the skizillions of cars all leaving at the exact same time. The traffic didn't deter us from going back the next year because we loved it and had a 'ball'!

Great article! I remember going to the Texas Renaissance Festival for the first time in 1975. What an amazing place it is, just a great atmosphere. I love all the photos you took, Linda! Interesting costumes!
