Aspen…

I happen to love Aspen trees, they have to be my absolute favorite. Their colors are so rich, and the bark holds such interesting textures and shapes.
I also quite enjoy putting together an outfit based on something as overlooked as a tree..
I know it sounds very earth-child, but I’m not taking things in that direction.
In every area of “design” you will hear people say, “I took my inspiration from nature.”
So what do you think they mean?

When you look at leaves, are they in groups of 3 or 5, or 1?
Are branches laying straight out at a 45 degree angle or are reaching naturally up, in a relaxed yet strong fashion, towards the sun?
Is every rock and every clump of grass the same exact size, or do they vary and seem to be perfectly placed anyhow?

Taking a cue from nature is so very simple. So today I have put together a group of fashion items, to coincide with my last article that was based on the beautiful golden Oak Brush that covers the landscapes this time of year in southern Colorado. Believe it or not, most of the Oaks have shed their leaves in the past week, but many of the aspen trees are still as gold as King Midas’ touch.

So today I encourage you to take your inspiration from nature. My inspiration was from the Aspen..
